Coronary artery calcification is often the first sign of heart disease and is a powerful risk indicator for your chances of developing a heart attack. A CT Calcium Score detects coronary calcium buildup quickly, easily and painlessly.  The test provides you with a score that indicates the extent of calcification of the heart’s coronary arteries.  The CT scan is performed in the hospital or at a freestanding imaging center.  If calcification has occurred, early preventive therapy can be initiated.
